TROY, Ohio — The Troy High School bowling teams hosted Xenia at Troy Bowl, with the varsity girls earning a strong victory while the varsity boys and JV boys were edged in competitive matches.
In varsity boys action, Troy fell to Xenia by a score of 2,362–2,247. Xenia posted games of 966 and 997 before adding baker scores of 194 and 205 to secure the win, while Troy rolled games of 911 and 930 with bakers of 191 and 215. Individually for Troy, Zadok Reeves led the way with games of 199 and 211 for a 410 series, followed closely by Kyle Wickman with a 405 series (191–214) and Seth Greene with a 390 series (198–192). Sam Swanson contributed a 331 series (157–174) and Caleb Young added a 305 series (166–139). The varsity boys now stand at 6–9 overall and 6–8 in MVL play.
The Troy varsity girls turned in an impressive performance, defeating Xenia 2,007–1,808. Troy built momentum with team games of 857 and 820 before closing out the match with baker scores of 155 and 175, while Xenia rolled 818 and 726 with bakers of 138 and 126. Baylie Massingill led all bowlers with a standout 444 series, rolling games of 225 and 219. Libby Burghardt followed with a 357 series (164–193), while Kari Hoover added a 340 series (171–169). December Byrd rolled a 270 series (148–122) and Cora Coate finished with a 266 series (149–117). With the win, the varsity girls improved to 13–2 overall and 13–1 in MVL competition.
In JV boys competition, Troy was narrowly defeated by Xenia, 1,720–1,640. Xenia posted games of 722 and 726 and baker scores of 148 and 124, while Troy rolled 705 and 678 with bakers of 129 and 128. Jaxson Frey led Troy with a 343 series (185–158), followed by Sylar Combs with a 333 series (159–174) and Owen Waterman with a 291 series (147–144). Ayden Bandy contributed a 244 series (134–110) and Arturo Martinez added a 172 series (80–92). The JV boys record now stands at 11–7.
