The Troy High School varsity bowling teams competed in the Tomahawk Sectional/District Preview Tournament at Beaver-Vu Bowl, an event designed to provide teams with competitive experience ahead of postseason sectional and district play. The tournament featured a large and competitive field, allowing teams to measure performance against other programs expected to contend later in the season.

The Troy varsity girls team placed second overall out of 19 teams. The team’s placement was supported by strong individual performances at the top of the lineup. Baylie Massingill finished first overall individually with a three-game series of 731, recording games of 247, 258, and 226. Libby Burghardt placed third overall individually with a three-game series of 618, with individual games of 201, 235, and 182. Both Massingill and Burghardt were named to the All-Tournament Team based on their individual results. In traditional team play, Troy recorded scores of 883, 876, and 776. The team followed with Baker game scores of 172, 205, 174, 159, and 158, resulting in a cumulative team total of 3,403 pins. Additional individual contributions were recorded by Kari Hoover with a three-game series of 411, December Byrd with a series of 272, Cora Coate with a series of 273, and Hailee Overholser with a series of 230.

The Troy varsity boys team placed 17th out of 23 teams in the tournament. The boys recorded traditional team game scores of 836, 968, and 768. During Baker play, the team posted scores of 132, 225, 152, 170, and 188, finishing the tournament with a total score of 3,439 pins. Individual series results for the boys included Kyle Wickman with a three-game series of 557, Zadok Reeves with a 552 series, Sam Swanson with a 514 series, Owen Waterman with a 482 series, and Evan Schmidt with a 467 series. These results reflected the combined efforts of the lineup across both traditional and Baker formats.

The Tomahawk Sectional/District Preview Tournament provided Troy’s varsity bowling teams with an opportunity to compete under postseason-style conditions and evaluate performance across multiple scoring formats. The teams will use the results from this event as they continue preparation for upcoming sectional and district competition.
